Check the publication’s form before drafting. A newspaper may require specific biographical details, proof, length, formatting, or an editorial deadline.
When to Send Wedding Announcements
Send or post the announcement after the ceremony. Printed cards are commonly mailed as soon as the couple has a photo and final wording, but there is no benefit in rushing at the expense of accuracy. If the announcement includes a reception invitation, send it early enough for guests to plan and RSVP.
Proofread names, wedding date, location, and return address. If you mention a new name, make sure it matches what the person actually plans to use socially. Legal name-change paperwork follows its own process and does not need to be complete before a social announcement.
